What Was The Problem In The Book, And How Was It Solved? - Comprehension 2

Today I did a 2 point task for my novel study: a haiku poem. If you don’t know what a haiku poem is, it is a poem made up of 3 lines, the first line has 5 syllables, the second has 7, and the third has 5 again.

My poem is about the main events of the story.

Knowledge:

What other books has the author written?

Lauren Child is a well-known children’s author, who has written 51 books in total. In this number, there are three series: Charlie And Lola (4 books), Clarice Bean (9 books), and, of course, Ruby Redfort (7 books). As well as many stand-alone books. Along with these, she has also created adaptations of popular fairy tales The Princess And The Pea, Goldilocks And The Three Bears, and Pippi Longstocking. Australian photographer Polly Borland helped Lauren with The Princess And The Pea as well as Goldilocks And The Three Bears, adding a photographic and 3D element to the books.

Science - Solar System 4.8.21

Yesterday in science, we looked at the size and distance of the planets in our solar system.

First of all, we each got a long strip of paper and some different sized stickers, which we used to create a diagram of sorts that showed how far each planet was away from the other. This was a little bit challenging because Sharon only told us

Maths & angles 12.8

This week in Nogo's maths group we have been looking at angles and how to classify them.

At first I didn't really understand, because we were going through them really fast, but eventually I understood how to draw the different types and how to label them.

Below is a photo of the work we did yesterday. Nogo wrote a list of angles we had to draw, label, classify and do our best to estimate the degree they were. Apart from the right, revolution, and straight line angles, all the others were a complete guess. Here's a photo of the workings:

Yesterday, after we had done all the tasks in our books, Nogo sent us a link for a game website where we had to read a protractor and type in the degree we thought the alien laser lined up with. If you read the protractor correctly then there would be a loud bang. It's a bit hard to explain but here's a screenshot of the game:
